No Mans Sky Continue Game When Alt Tab
You can get back. Someone made a video on it, if you can find the link. PRetty much just click fast on it. I just got back by accidently hitting shift+tab, and suddenly I was in the game with the steam overlay.
Same for me...i ALT+Tabbed out of the game to post something here - could not get back to the game and had to kill it :/
Yea me to. Game not very friendly with alt tabing i guess.
Alt + tab does make not come back at first.
Just click on the game App icon on your task bar, press shift+tab (like when you want to open Steam overlay in-game) and try to click in any place. I tried this and it works...
BUT
It is a pain in the a s s doing this all the time when you alt+tab -.-'
My solution is just play in window mode (I have a very big screen anyway)
just set the display mode in the options to borderless instead of fullscreen. Then no issue should occurs with ALT+TAB as it will be a system windows. Fullscreen is not really meant to accept, it kinda breaks the game at any moment
Why do they even do this? Todays PC gamers often multitask with a web browser, chat window, social media, music or youtube up on other monitors even when their main screen is running a fullscreen game. A game that refuses to alt-tab or minimze gracefully, or siezes cursor control, is bad coding practice that should be abolished.

That's because when you do it borderless it is still a window so the OS handles it as any other windows, it can get behind other windows and everything.
Fullscreen means exclusive access to the GPU, so background application are not even rendered in this state, which is meant for better performances. ALT+TAB is kinda breaks from GPU Exclusive to Non Exclusive and back which can cause issues. It's not specific to the game. But that is why there is in most recent games this settign of borderless that ensure you can safely do multitasking.
That's what the mode is meant for, so people should use it if they want to ALT+TAB.

I WAS running in borderless. Or attempting to.
What it says on the tin, alt tabing causes the game to crash, happend on both fullscreen and borderless windowed mode
Same here. gtx760 and intel 8 core cpu. Windows 7. For me I just can't get back into the game.
